(Sacred Ordinary – May 2026)
If I could go back — knowing everything I know now…
I’d still roll the window down.
I’d still smile at the boy standing beside the broken car on that cold December night.
Still let Real McCoy play through the speakers while the heater hummed warm against the winter air.
Still let him climb into the passenger seat with those freezing hands, that crooked grin, and just enough bad-boy energy to make sixteen-year-old me forget every ounce of common sense I had.
And honestly?
I’d still choose him.
Even now, knowing love wasn’t going to stay all sparks and heat. Knowing there would be hard years and hospital rooms and seasons where life wore us both thin. Knowing there would be nights we’d have to fight our way back to each other.
I’d still open the door.
Because the bad boy grew into the man who:
- taught our boys how to work with their hands,
- kissed me in kitchens,
- held my hand through ordinary life,
- made me laugh when I wanted to cry,
- and somehow still knows exactly how to look at me in a way that makes my heart skip all these years later.
The truth is, I didn’t just fall for the thrill of him.
I fell for the steadiness underneath it.
The warmth.
The loyalty.
The way he kept showing up long after the sparks settled into something deeper.
And maybe that’s the real love story, not that the fire stayed wild forever, but that after everything, the flame still burns.
So yes.
Knowing all I know now?
I’d still roll the window down. 🌿🔥
