Too Much or Just Deep Enough

Sacred Ordinary – November 2025

Sometimes I wonder if I feel too much. If the way I love, full and unfiltered, is too heavy for the world around me.

Because everything means something to me.

Every glance. Every deep breath. Every word that’s spoken and even the ones that aren’t.

I notice the pauses, the shifts in tone, the quiet between sentences that most people let pass by.

It’s not that I’m overthinking.

It’s that I feel life — all of it. The way his eyes drift away mid-conversation. The weight behind a simple “I’m fine.”

The stillness that settles when something’s left unsaid. Maybe that’s what happens when you’ve lived through the fragile parts of life, when you’ve stood in hospital rooms and prayed for one more heartbeat.

You stop taking moments at face value. You start reading the world like a poem, where everything is layered and everything is sacred.

I know not everyone lives this way. Some people walk through life untouched by its undercurrents, and maybe it’s easier that way.

But I can’t unfeel what I’ve learned to feel. I can’t unsee what’s been made holy to me.

So maybe I’m not too much.

Maybe I’m just deep enough for the kind of love and life I want. The kind that notices. The kind that feels.

The kind that remembers that even the quietest moments carry meaning.

Because when you’ve almost lost everything, you start to see the beauty in everything.

Still, sometimes I catch myself waiting for the next shoe to drop, as if the peace I’ve found might disappear without warning.

It’s what happens after the storm — your heart keeps listening for thunder, even when the sky is clear.

But I’m learning to whisper to myself,

Right now, nothing is falling apart.

Right now, we are safe.

And maybe that’s what healing really looks like. Learning to stand in the calm, to breathe in the quiet, to trust that love doesn’t always come with lightning. Maybe this depth isn’t a burden after all. Maybe it’s the proof that I’ve lived, that I’ve survived, that I still know how to love even after the storm. 🌙
